TORONTO, CANADA (May 10, 2010) – Invatron Systems Corp. here today has launched ClarityRetail, the first commercially available forecasting service designed specifically for retailers who wish to optimize their inventory and replenishment practices through the use of analytical forecasting tools based on consumer demand by store.

ClarityRetail creates UPC level forecasts uniquely by store using historical sales data and a range of other influences such as price, promotion and seasonality. Each factor that has an influence on demand is weighted by the predictive engine using sophisticated algorithms that are at the heart of ClarityRetail.

Other forecasting solutions aggregate data from groups of stores and attempt to create profiles based on patterns that emerge. The problem with this type of approach is that it is not adaptive over time and does not reflect store-specific sales patterns.

ClarityRetail uses a variety of models based on the sales pattern exhibited by a particular UPC. Through analysis of a particular UPC’s pattern, ClarityRetail will select the most appropriate statistical model to use. ClarityRetail has built-in logic to handle a variety of complex influencers such as sales promotions, promotion types, price variance, seasonal events and holiday trends.

Invatron Systems Corp. has over ten years of experience building predictive engines for retail grocery and convenience store environments. Customers such as Sobeys, Giant-Eagle, Get Go, Winn-Dixie and others use our predictive engine for forecasting demand in their Perishable departments, arguably the toughest environment in the grocery/convenience store to estimate demand.
